Thank you Rebecca! It is such a "rabbit hole" and a tough one to fully comprehend. I shall read your article linked to your website for more details. I know Paige Reisenfeld is a very well informed source for the details on this subject also. Yet, however simply it is explained it still leaves me with my head spinning a bit, once I try to delve into the rabbit hole further.
Great article Rebecca! Nice to read from a fellow satellite! Another wide distribution option I want to share for narrators is Academy voices. They do a lot of public domain books.
I've not heard of them. Their website makes it look like they are a production company that handles distribution for the audiobooks they produce. Do you know if they also do distribution a la carte?
Yes you are correct. They distribute mostly public domain audiobooks to around 40 platforms. Not sure if they do a la carte. The founder of Academy Voices is Anthony Pica, and I am sure you can reach out to him directly. He is on all the socials.
Meant to say "from a fellow Seattle-ite" I live in Bothell :-)
I love that you are branching out but i couldn’t see what that article was talking about she didn’t reslly give a lot of information about what you can’t do rather thsn what we can do😢
Yeah, it's just kinda a quick introduction. This stuff can get intense. Basically, know that there are more distribution options than just ACX exclusive. You can use different distributors to go wide and they'll post to ACX AND other online stores. It's useful to know especially with the royalty changes ACX is making. For me, I use Author's Republic (sometimes instead of, sometimes along with ACX). Does that help?
Found this article very helpful, thank you Tanya and Rebecca. I thought ACX distributed to more than Audible and ITunes. Very disappointing that they do not partner with Libby. The new payment structure at ACX is also a negative for human voices, RS is no longer profitable for narrators and it seems intentional. Less narrators willing to accept the work, more content for AI when authors cannot afford PFR. In this context ACX hurts everyone, less quality for readers and authors, less work and pay for narrators, more noise in the craft. Indie Authors and Narrator outreach is more important than ever.

Really helpful, Tanya and Rebecca, thank you!
Great info, thanks Rebecca (and Tanya for hosting!)
My work so far is with Indie authors--I'm short on this knowledge--thanks for the directions--valuable and actionable as always, Tanya and Rebecca!
Great information. Thank you for sharing!

Great points. Appreciate this angle (& and thanks for mentioning Authors Republic does not distribute to Libby specifically.) 🙏👏

Thank You Tanya. Marie
I am new as a Narrator how do I reach out to Indie Authors.
Great question. I’ll write a future article on that.
I enjoyed this article because it taught me facets of the business I never considered. Thank you!
Great! I'm still learning too and things change really quickly in this business.
Yaaaay! I’m back. ❤️🫵🙏🙏🙏🙇♀️
This is the first I've heard about direct audiobook distribution through Google Play Books. I'm definitely looking into this more!
